Headteacher's Weekly Blog

Week Ending 21st September 2018

Blog Entry #1

It gives me great pleasure to be able to greet you all on this my first weekly Headteacher's blog entry. This is something new for DGSB - and for me! - and I hope it will allow you to keep in touch with me and with what is taking place in our school each week and each term.

It has certainly been a busy, but very productive start to term. I have been able to welcome all of our students either back to DGSB or for the first time in the case of Year 7 and some Year 12 students. I have also been meeting with each member of our wonderful teaching staff and our amazing support staff, so that I get to know more about each person within "Team DGSB". My focus this year is on ensuring that everybody within our community is able to achieve his or her very best, whether student or staff, and I am immensely grateful to everybody at school for the tremendously positive welcome which I have received, and the clear desire shown by all to push our wonderful school on to even greater heights. If you are interested - and I hope you will be - I am hosting an introductory event next week (Wednesday 26th September - 6pm-7pm) for parents and carers when I will be talking a little more about my plans for DGSB. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible next Wednesday, and to keeping in touch with you via this blog in the weeks and months ahead.
