Information on Open Events and Transition to Years 7 and 12

Important Information on DGSB Open Events and Transition Arrangements into Year 7 and Year 12

DGSB Year 5 Open Events 2020

With the current national school closure it is likely that the arrangements for our Year 5 open evening will be different this year to what we normally do. However, please be reassured that we will act in accordance with any government guidance or instruction to keep all members of our community and visitors to our school safe. Once we know when we will be able to return to school, we will provide further information on what form our open evening will take and a provisional date for any in-school event, should this be permitted. In the meantime, do please contact our Admissions Officer, Tess Cook, should you have any questions or queries.

Arrangements for the annual Dover Test will be published once they have been determined, again in accordance with government guidance on maintaining safe working practice within school.

Transition into Year 7 and Year 12 for September 2020

Mr Horstrup will soon be writing to each of our new Year 7 students to provide an update on how the transition from Year 6 to Year 7 will take place and to offer reassurance and guidance on how boys can keep themselves academically engaged during the period of national school closure. Likewise, Mr Polden, our Head of Sixth Form, has contacted Year 11 students - both internal and external - and will provide further information on transition into Year 12 once these arrangements are known.

Once we know when we will be able to return to school we will pubish further information on our transition arrangements.

If your son is in Year 5 or 6 and you have any questions about SEND, please feel free to contact our SENCO, Mrs S-J White, at and she will be more than happy to deal with your enquiry.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time.
