The school will reopen for the students on Monday 5th September.
Enrichment Trips
Wednesday 20 July is trip day for the majority of students in Year 7 - 10. All trips will depart from Northbourne Avenue at the following times:
Bellewaerde Coach A (mostly Priory & Port students) be at School entrance 05:45 for 06:00 departure.
Bellewaerde Coach B - the remainder of students - be at School for 06:45 for 07:00 departure. Please remember your passport!
Science Museum - check in 07:45 depart 08:00
British Museum - check in 07:45 depart 08:00
Imperial War Museum Duxford - check in 07:45 - depart 08:00
Madam Tussauds - come to School for 08:40 - trip will leave Northbourne avenue at 09:00
Science & Sport - come to school for 08:40 - trip will leave Northbourne Avenue at 09:15
Dover Castle - come to school for 08:40 and report to Mr Goodban - trip will depart at 10:15
The remainder of students not involved in a trip should report to school at the normal time of 08:40.
The trip to the National Theatre and Wrhorse will take place on Thursday 21 July. Students involved in this trip should come to school as normal.
It is non - school uniform on all 3 days on the Enrichment event.
Sports Day - Friday 8th July 2011
Events will be running from 9am till 3pm.
All parents and friends are welcome to support the students.
Information regarding strike action – Thursday 30 June 2011
DGSB will be open as normal to all Year 7-10 and Year 12 students on this day. The exception to this is that the second day of 6th Form Induction has been cancelled. The 6th Form Induction has been remodelled to take place on Wednesday 29 June and Friday 1 July. A programme for the two days can be downloaded here.
Cool Physics
Several classes from Year's 7,8 and 9 were treated to a work shop on "cool physics" run by Dr Victoria FitzGerald from the University of Kent at Canterbury. The workshop consisted of exploring what is liquid nitrogen and how it works in relation to temperature and particles.
Finally a demonstration on how icecream can be made with liquid nitrogen which the pupils were able to sample.
